Impermanence

It’s not what you think it is

Impermanence is when you look at yourself

And notice some things that’s don’t fit.

Not anymore.

And feel, completely, the resentful passive cruelty of time

How it strips away things that you once believed as perfect moments

Suddenly all of this has pushed you into the unprotected center.

Like a party where only you were invited.

So you have to start to dance the impermanence song.

That same thing that you once thought was lost

But now you recognize it as a gift.

Remember all those false narratives that you carried.

All of those comfort myths.

All of those ghosts who had followed you for so long

Face them.

And say goodbye.

Feel the sensation of finally being free.

And reimagine yourself in real-time

Challenge old conventions and traditions.

Remember, there’s no right way.

As long as you do it.

Because we’re not cursed to dwell

On the strange (in) permanence

Of our desires.
